I have always ordered an 8.5 in both brands. I haven't worn Altra is a really long time - but I remember them always as true-to-size with a wider toe-box. However, these Altra's were neither!!!
I liked the lightweight of the shoe, I love the color and the construction is nice - but I have to return and probably size up a whole size, given I have to wear cushioned running socks with my sneakers.
Overall, I would recommend - however, I would definitely SIZE-UP
