The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.

1.0 out of 5 stars. More narrow than a regular widthReviewed by M Land from Vermont on Thursday, November 21, 2024I have to wonder if these boots weren't mislabeled. They are more narrow than even my regular width boots, and come nowhere near a "wide" width.

4.0 out of 5 stars. They’re okayReviewed by Colomtngirl from Denver on Monday, November 18, 2024I think I would like these better if I had ordered my normal size. I read a lot of reviews saying to size up 1/2, but they are just kind of floppy now. I wear the thickest smartwools with them and still have plenty of room. That would be great if they were an actual winter shoe, but wearing super thick socks in a non insultated shoe seems weird to me. There’s nothing “wrong” with them, and they look nice. It’s just the sizing for me.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Not half as comfortable as the regular Hut Moc…Reviewed by John from Kansas on Thursday, November 14, 2024The concept is nice, but I’m not a fan. I love the regular Hut Moc and thought I’d give these a try…sorry I did. I don’t care how they fit comparatively.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very happy feetReviewed by Mismyfavoriteletter from MA on Friday, November 8, 2024Tried these on in store about a month ago and couldn't pass them up! They hugged my feet and I immediately knew I'd found a great fit. I just do trail day hikes, with my dog, and am really happy with the support and grip these provide. Wearing them daily now and only wish they were WP/Gortex - that would be perfection for me

4.0 out of 5 stars. Overall great.Reviewed by GMB from Michigan on Friday, November 1, 2024Looking for a slip-on boot to run to the store, these by far are the easiest to slip on. I have a wider foot and there are no issues putting them on. They are comfortable to walk in and I have had them in the snow already yesterday. They aren't the prettiest but will get the job done. My only complaint is that no matter whose brand of "grippy" boot I put on, whatever is being produced the last couple years, are horrible on ice. These "sticky rubber outsole" are not really and are more of the hard rubber. These will not be great on ice, but for running to the store in snow will work fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love These ShoesReviewed by Danakins from Kansas on Tuesday, October 29, 2024I love these shoes and wish there were more available in other colors. At first I thought I'd use them like house slippers, but they are far more versatile than that. I highly recommend them.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Cute but...Reviewed by JSue from Minnesota on Sunday, October 27, 2024These are cute boots. I ordered a full size up as I have moderately wide feet and a high instep. While the boot was wide enough at 1 full size up, the seams at the top of the boot were thick and rubbed on my arches. Sadly I had to return them as even very thick socks did not overcome the rubbing of the seams. The search for a tall shaft boot for wide feet and high arches continues.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Same shoe, different colorReviewed by G. B. from Portland, OR on Sunday, October 20, 2024I left a review when I first bought these last winter. They're too heavy, thick soled for hiking shoes. I'd get tired quickly if I were using them for anything other than half hour hikes. Great grip and a thick sole but I would call them a hybrid heavy hiker - approach shoes. They're also wide and high but kinda stubby in the toes, like not long enough for the length of your feet but too big all around so requires tight lacing. I kept them because they work for slippery city surfaces, waterproof is necessary in PNW. Hopefully this helps give a better idea of what you're getting.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Warm and comfyReviewed by Tfro from Denver on Saturday, October 19, 2024These are warm and comfortable and I can’t beat the price. I own a lot of Merrell shoes and the 9 always fits like a glove, perfect for no extra room. For winter boots I decided to get 9.5 and they will be fine with wool socks. I usually only wear boots for shoveling and on rare other days, so they should last me many years.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Good quality warm, skinny ankleReviewed by Tfro from Denver on Saturday, October 19, 2024I love the quality of these, they are very warm and seem like they’ll last a long time. However, I don’t recommend these if you have thick ankles. I am female, size 9 shoe with skinny ankles and these are so tight in the ankle/up the calf that they leave a pattern on my skin. I’m hoping the elastic might loosen up after wearing them more. I know they’re labeled as men’s but I think the patterns are neutral and I like the grey/purple color, the length is best for either men or a woman who wears shoe size 9 and up.
