  • Casting Call: Friday, January 13 at Little America Hotel

    CHEYENNE, WYO (Dec. 30, 2016) – Sierra, the highly popular destination that delivers every day value on apparel, footwear and gear, seeks models ages 18 and older for its catalog and web businesses. The Internet retailer is part of The TJX Companies, Inc. family and currently operates 12 brick-and-mortar stores.

    The company, which is headquartered in Cheyenne, will host a casting call 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13 at Little America Hotel, 2800 W. Lincolnway in Cheyenne.

    Models generally work days and earn $20/hour for these part-time positions. Applicants don’t need prior modeling experience, but they must meet certain criteria.

    Women must:

    • Be 5’7” to 5’9” tall
    • Fit a pant size of 2-14
    • Fit a shirt size of extra small to extra large

    Men must:

    • Be 5’11” to 6’3” tall
    • Fit a pant size of 31-34”
    • Fit a shirt size of medium to extra large

    The work will take place at Sierra’s studios in Cheyenne. Selected models will appear in our catalog, which is distributed nationally, and on our ecommerce site, which serves an international customer audience, as well as in the brand’s social media content.

  • As part of National Make a Difference Day, Sierra will serve as a collection point for cold weather gear and apparel to benefit local service agencies

    CHEYENNE, WYO (Oct. 19, 2016) – In celebration of National Make a Difference Day on Saturday, Oct. 22, Sierra will begin collecting cold weather gear at its retail stores this week. The donations of coats, socks, boots and more will be provided to area non-profits serving the homeless and food insecure populations.

    “Most of our stores are in colder climates,” says Sara Cagle, strategic partnership specialist for Sierra. “Serving as a collection point for gear and apparel is a way for us to help vulnerable people in our communities.”

    To encourage participation, Sierra is giving away one free promotional item to the first five people who donate in-store each day. The most frequently requested items include:

    • sleeping bags
    • tents
    • tarps
    • thermal base layers
    • coats
    • snow pants
    • hand/foot warmers
    • winter boots
    • blankets and bedding such as sheets, comforters and pillowcases)

    “Heading into the colder weather months, now is the time to assist these community organizations in stocking up their supply before the need is too great to accommodate,” Cagle adds.

    CHEYENNE, WY (SEPTEMBER 24, 2014) – Sierra, the highly popular destination to buy apparel, footwear, outdoor and fitness gear at up to 70 percent off, is gearing up to hire 200 people for its state-of-the-art Fulfillment Center and Customer Contact Center in Cheyenne.

    "We do more hiring this time of year in anticipation of our busy season," explained Sierra Public Relations Manager Juliette Rule. "Many of these positions are a path to full-time, benefitted positions."

    The Cheyenne-based company will host hiring events 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1 and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1. Both events will be at Sierra’s Fulfillment Center, just east of its retail store at 5025 Campstool Road.

    Sierra will hire forklift operators, return processors and stockers as well as customer service agents for phone, email, chat and social media. The retailer is offering seasonal hiring bonuses of $250 - $500 for full- and part-time associates hired during these events. Position starting pay range begins at $10.77 with an opportunity to earn more than $15 an hour with productivity-based increases.

    Last year Sierra hired 150 people. More will be hired this year to support the bustling web business and the brand’s stores in Colorado.

    Sierra To Host Angelyne The Amazing Deaf Cattle Dog

    Angelyne is an Australian cattle dog who happened to be born deaf. Despite that challenge, she was able to learn more than 40 hand signals.

    Melvin is her handler and trainer. This duo is widely known for their work in character education, inspirational speaking and as advocates for people and animals with disabilities. Melvin will share their heart-warming story and perform a series of tricks at Sierra’s retail store.

    The event is free for attendees, and it will be held in the retail store, 5025 Campstool Road.
